Who Are We?

Humanity First started formally as a registered charity in 1994 in the United Kingdom. Since its inception, Humanity First has responded to several disasters and served hundreds of thousands of victims in various affected communities. Soon, the organization's scope of operations expanded beyond disaster relief to several sustainable human development projects and initiatives around the world. Around 2000, Humanity First began to focus on longer term projects around health care, education, vocational training, water and orphans. At the same time, HF began to grow its organic operations across sub-Saharan Africa, northern Latin America, Europe and the Caribbean, South Asia and Australasia. Today, Humanity First is registered in 41 countries across 6 continents and actively working on projects in 46 countries. Its operations are primarily funded by grassroots donations from individuals, corporate gift matching, and various other grants. The dedicated workers of Humanity First are the force behind the good work that the organization delivers, who bring their professional industry experience to the benefit of the affected communities. It also leverages preferential rates for relief equipment, logistics, and other needed supplies benefiting from global sourcing. In 2010, Humanity First Guatemala was established under the direction of David Gonzalez and a team of dedicated volunteers. Over the years, Humanity First Guatemala has continued to exceed goals and expectations to decrease the suffering and extreme poverty of Guatemalan families. Through support services such as disaster relief assistance, human development projects, medical screenings and treatments, and educational programs, Humanity First has been able to build and strengthen the capacity for thousands of Guatemalans. Humanity First Guatemala is registered in el Sistema Único del Registro Electrónico de Personas Jurídicas since January 2010, registration number 25338, page 25338, Book 1.
