Water for Life

The Water for Life program seeks to provide better access to water to deserving communities in various parts of the world through installation of water pumps, wells, and filtration systems. The provision of safe drinking water not only addresses daily water requirements for people who desperately need it, but it also has a significant positive human development impact in many critical areas such as child health, education, and poverty. In the past 5 years, Humanity First has provided safe, clean drinking water to over 2 million people around the world.

The artisan wells project began in 2010 in Masagua, Escuintla. Masagua is situated on the south coast of Guatemala and has approximately 46,000 inhabitants situated in 78 villages. The vast majority of these villages are in areas of extreme poverty, and do not have a system to distribute drinking water. The only way to obtain water is through the development of wells throughout these villages, and Humanity First Guatemala has built nearly 200 wells to benefit thousands of Guatemalans.

Cost per well: $ 500.00 USD
